Image Insertion/Deletion: PIBE deals with insertions and deletions of images.
For instance, when a new image is inserted, PIBE is able to suggest a suitable cluster within which to accommodate the image.
More in details, whenever the user performs an insertion into the BT, the new image is automatically routed towards the most appropriate BT node.
This is determined by choosing, at each traversed level of the tree, the centroid which is closest, according to the local distance function, to the feature vector of the new image.
To give an example, the following figure shows how a new image is routed towards the most appropriate node in the initial and the custom BT:
After creating a cluster containing shark images, the so-resulting Custom BT is indeed able to nicely accommodate the new shark image into such cluster.
